Model B4104

The Model B4104 was electrically identical to the Model B4100. This model was the only battery-operated rainbow available in more than two cabinet colors. It was available in ivory, green, gold, blue, and rose. Visually, it differed from the Model B4100 with the substitution of a fan-shaped dial and one-armed pointer.

Tube Complement:

1. 1A7GT: Converter
2. 1N5GT: IF Amplifier
3. 1H5GT: 2nd Detector, AVC, 1st Audio Amplifier
4. 3Q5GT: Output Amplifier

Features of B4104 models:

1. The fan-shaped dial and one-armed pointer are used, but the part number (R8258-24) differs from the part number of fan-shaped dials used in some other models (R16127-24). This fan dial contains lettering and numerals that are thinner than those of the R16127-24 dial. In addition there is an extra dial marking at the 150 numeral that is not present on the R16127-24 dial. The R8258-24 dial is also found on Model 5104.

2. The Model B4104 does not sport the Baby Champ label on the back.

3. The back has three screw terminals: external antenna, ground, and phono input. Three decals are affixed on the back: license warning, battery connection/tube location, and 2 volt storage cell warning.

6. The back is attached to the chassis by two rivets. Two bottom back holes are left open.
